Take a quiz about choosing a career or area of study

As you do the quizzes, make notes on:  • the style of the quiz (serious, funny, in-depth etc.)  • how easy or difficult it is to complete  • how long it takes  • the result you got after taking the quiz  • your overall impression of the quiz  • whether it would help you make a choice. What we can learn from galaxies far, far away

Henry Lin at TEDYouth 2013 What we can learn from galaxies far, far away Galaxy clusters are mysterious, they are surprising,   and they're useful.   There are four major types _ the big, the hot, the small, and the very strange. 1. The big: so massive that the light passing through it is being bent because of the extreme gravity; has one million billion suns; scaled-down version of the entire universe But still there is a question: How does gravity work? 2. The hot: million-degree of hot gas-plasma; extreme gravity of this systems is   accelerating particles of gas to great speeds,   and great speeds means great temperatures But this is just a rough draft of science. 3. The small: most of the universe's matter is made up of something mysterious, which we call dark matter-somethi ng   that doesn't like to interact very much,   except through gravity But we can't study this in the lab. 4. The strange We don't unde...

Quizlet: The Morality of Animals

Project 2: Do you agree with animal testings?

[Animal Testings Should be Banned] Poisoning, shocking, burning, and killing animals is committed every day in laboratories . If these acts were committed outside laboratories, they would be felonies. I strongly believe that these felonies - animal testings - should be banned.  The reasons are followed. First of all, animal testings are unethical. They are unethical to lock up millions of thinking, feeling living animals in laboratories and intentionally give them pain and fear. Second, they are unreliab le.  90% of drugs fail in human trials despite promising results in animal tests - whether on safety grounds or because they do not work. For example, humans have cured mice of cancer of decades, but it simply didn't work in humans. Lastly, they are unnecessary. The world doesn't need another eyeliner, food ingredient, hand soap, lotion, or pesticide so badly that it should come at the expense of innocent animals' lives. To sum up, animal testings should n...
